Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Receipt Office: Expense Scan ("the App", "we", "us") handles your information. We built this app with privacy in mind — we collect only what is strictly necessary to provide the service.
1. Information We Process
When you use the App, the following data is transmitted to our servers solely for processing purposes:
- Receipt images — photos you upload for recognition.
- Technical metadata — job identifiers and request parameters required to process your request.
We do not collect your name, email address, device identifiers, or location data. The App does not require account registration or sign-in.
2. How We Use Your Data
Receipt images and associated metadata are used solely to extract structured information (merchant name, amount, date, etc.) and return it to you within the App. We do not use your data for advertising, analytics, or any purpose other than providing the core App functionality.
3. Data Retention
Receipt images are deleted from our servers immediately after processing is complete. We do not retain copies of your receipt images. Temporary processing logs may be retained for up to 7 days for debugging purposes and then automatically deleted.
4. Third-Party Services
We use Google Gemini API (Google LLC) to perform AI-based receipt recognition. Your receipt images are transmitted to Google's API for processing. Google's use of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. We do not use any other third-party subprocessors.
All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS encryption).
5. In-App Purchases & Subscriptions
The App offers auto-renewable subscriptions managed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store your payment information. Apple's handling of payment data is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.
6. Your Rights
Since we do not retain your personal data after processing, there is typically no data to access or delete. If you have questions about data that may have been retained in temporary logs, you may contact us and we will address your request within 30 days.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to access, correct, or erase your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing under the GDPR.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
